Parent to Parent (P2P) Coordinator Job Announcement

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED, or a combination of experience and employment that is commensurate is required
  • Volunteer and/or work experience with diverse populations that show you are or can be an ally for those we serve
  • Minimum six (6) months of professional experience in a social services agency or related field in a not-for-profit, government or for-profit business
  • Experience providing exemplary customer services and/or collaboration with culturally diverse groups
  • Demonstrated administrative, data, training, and supervision
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Reliable transportation for travel to/from meetings, community events, support groups, etc. as needed; mileage will be reimbursed
  • Be a parent/guardian or a family member of a person with special needs, living or deceased.
  • Experienced in time management, maintenance of case records and program data.

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • AA Degree or BA/BS preferred or a combination of experience and employment that is commensurate
  • One (1) year or more of professional experience in a social services agency or related field in a not-for-profit, government or for-profit business
  • Demonstrated support to individuals that have experienced trauma
  • Familiar with the emotional responses and the stages of personal adjustment to parenting a child with a developmental disability or special healthcare need.
  • Skilled in communications- written and oral and comfortable with public speaking.
  • Experience in the training and supervision of staff or volunteers.
  • Please indicate if you have a limited Working Proficiency or are Conversational to Fluent in any of these languages: Spanish, Korean, Tagalog, German, Russian, Vietnamese, Other Pacific Island languages, Cambodian, Japanese, Other Slavic languages, Chinese, French, African, and/or Arabic

Special Requirements, Physical Demands, Working Conditions:

  • Some travel will be required for related area meetings, community events, support groups, partner organizations, etc.
  • Flexibility in meeting demands and assisting the P2P Team is essential
  • Ability to interact effectively with others and function well as a member of a team
  • Flexibility in working hours appropriate for this position’s area of responsibility; mainly Monday – Friday and includes some weekends and evenings
  • Some knowledge of Trauma Informed Care, adult training best practices, educational and medical systems, is helpful, but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse economic, ethnic, and social backgrounds is essential
  • Passing a Background Check (DSHS/DDA Secretary’s List) is required

Salary Range: $18 – $23/hour commensurate with experience, plus benefit package.

Flexible work schedules. What does this mean for PAVE employees? Each employee is hired and counted on to deliver and execute their roles and responsibilities within the hours they were hired per week. PAVE’s work week is from Sunday to Saturday. It’s preferred that all employees, especially those who are full-time have 2 days off per week. Rest. Renewal. Down time is essential to each person’s life-work balance.
