Start Now! Preparing for High School and Beyond

A session to share information with middle school and high school families about what to expect out of a transition program and how to prepare.

Why wait?  Let’s Start Now!

Are you a parent, educator, or student in Clark County?  Are you wondering about life after transition, or how to prepare for your transition program in the future?  This session is for you. Join us for our first session of the school,  a presentation from PAVE and panel of local educators.

Jerri Clark, PAVE, will present on How to Prepare for Life After High School.

Making the move from high school to what happens next can be confusing. For a student with a disability, this transition can be especially disorienting. The good news is that this time is also exciting for a young person ready to stretch and grow and find a pathway into adult life. This presentation provides some of the ways that families can work with the school to prepare a student for further education, vocational training and/or independent living. Focus will be on IEP teamwork and how to use tools such as the High School and Beyond Plan to get organized and prepared for this big leap.

After the presentation, stick around for a panel of educators who will  provide insight on what to expect and how to prepare for High school and Beyond.
