Online – Disability Teaches Us: Listen to and Learn from Youth

Two years ago, The Washington State Governor’s Office of the Education Ombuds (OEO) and Rooted in Rights launched a student storytelling series and learning resources focused on advancing disability history and pride in Washington State in K-12 schools. Join us for a student panel of some of our former storytellers to hear how you can act in solidarity with disability justice to improve schools and communities, especially during this time of global change in racial justice and COVID responses. Our student panelists will be: A.J. Gammons-Reese (they/them), Kenassa Sarka (he/him), and Anna Orht (she/her). Learn more about The One Out of Five Project

This event will be online. You will receive the Zoom link upon registration. We will be recording and live closed captioning the panel. If you need additional accommodations, please reach out to OEO by 8/19: oeoinfo@gov.wa.gov.

This event is sponsored by OEO, PAVE, and Roots of Inclusion.

1 free clock hour available for educators.
