F2F Family Navigation Specialist Job Announcement

As a Family Navigation Specialist, you will provide support, training, information, and resources to assist parents who reside in the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas of WA and experience an IDD and/or are neurodiverse, that are involved with family support service agencies and organizations and/or the Parents Representation Program, if the parent is being or has a potential to be referred to CPS for out of home placement.  Your empathy, cultural competence, and effective communication will be crucial for linking parents and family service agencies and organizations.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Share your knowledge and/or experience providing support, training, information, and resources in the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness.
  • Ability to link a designated constituent/client with service agencies and organizations.  
  • Knowledge, experience, or lived experience with individuals who experience a developmental disability and/or are neurodiverse.
  • Able to offer training and one-to-one support utilizing a trauma-informed approach. 
  • Effectively utilize technology daily to perform all job duties and PAVE’s data management system.  

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires high school diploma or GED and one year of direct work experience in providing support, training, information, and resources.
  • Demonstrated work experience providing one-to-one customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing presentations/training for large and small groups. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated data entry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse economic, ethnic, and social backgrounds.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Pass a Background Check (DSHS/DDA Secretary’s List)
  • Proof of being up to date on both flu and COVID-19 vaccinations are required.  Individuals with medical issues or religious beliefs or practices that prevent them from getting the vaccine may request an exemption from the vaccine requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AA Degree and two or more years of providing customer service support, writing, and using technology in the disability community.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information and resources as it relates to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Proficient and/or resourceful in finding and sharing information and resources for residents of Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas.
  • Experience and/or employment utilizing trauma informed knowledge in supporting and training adult learners.
  • Experienced in data entry utilizing Salesforce; training is provided upon hiring.

Salary Range: $21.50-23/hour DOE for this full-time (40-hours/week) position with benefits.
