Online – Down Syndrome Moms Night In

Spend an hour with other moms who get it. Our experiences and lives are unique, unto themselves! Come put your feet up and chat a bit! This group meets online the 2nd Friday of each month.

Online – Black/African American Family Support Group

This group is for Black/African American families to come together as a cultural community to support one another as parents/caregivers of children, youth, adults and individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Come talk to other parents who get it.

Some of the topics on our agenda:

  • Sensory Processing Disorder & hair maintenance
  • Overcoming Cultural biases and stigmas
  • Parenting in public (overcoming behavior challenges & public opinions)

Lakewood – Open To Access: Accommodations After High School

PAVE, and Clover Park Technical College are partnering up to put on an in-person informal training session about accommodations after high school.

Please share out with the community partners and families.

This training is for:

  • Parents/caregivers of K-12 students with IEP or 504 Plans
  • College students with accommodation plans
  • College faculty and staff
  • Students in Human Services Program

We are a group of parents and caregivers of children with disabilities, as well as special health care or learning needs.

Parenting is stressful for everyone and parenting a child with special needs is unique and can be isolating. Come to join us for some virtual coffee or tea with other parents who get it. This group is about emotional support, laughter, sharing resources, and just having a safe place to talk about whatever is on your mind.

  • What does a school have to provide for a student with disabilities? A Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE)
  • Empower yourself to talk about FAPE to get a student’s needs met
  • Time for your question on any special education topic

Bremerton – ESD 114 Series of Workshops and IEP Clinics – Back to School

These trainings are opportunities for parents, caregivers, and professionals to learn how students receive their special education services. The initial plan is to be meeting in person; however, information will be sent a couple of days prior to meeting.

From 2pm – 3pm will be the training topic.

The IEP clinic will go from 3pm – 4pm that will allow individuals to bring your students IEP, Evaluation, or 504 plan to the clinic and asked questions/answers.

 

Bremerton – ESD 114 Series of Workshops and IEP Clinics – Questions and Answers

These trainings are opportunities for parents, caregivers, and professionals to learn how students receive their special education services. The initial plan is to be meeting in person; however, information will be sent a couple of days prior to meeting.
