LRW Program Specialist – Job Announcement

The Lifespan Respite Program Specialist will assist caregivers across WA State obtain much needed breaks by utilizing the services of respite providers on the Lifespan Respite Washington (LRW) website. This position’s primary responsibilities will be to support caregivers utilize their funded voucher and assist with the implementing family camp retreats for the unpaid family caregivers of individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disability (I/DD) who are eligible for, but not currently receiving, respite services.

PAVE will provide extensive training for candidates that demonstrate essential skills and offer lived experience. Military spouses in/outside of WA, persons of color, and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Provide empathetic, responsive customer service for caregivers and support in using respite services including preparing and attending family camp retreats. 
  • Effective daily utilization of technology to perform all job duties which includes PAVE’s proprietary data management system.  
  • Write and create outreach and content material (i.e., website, FAQs, prepare and attend the family camp retreat, etc.).
  • Track and report on marketing campaigns.
  • Implement project evaluations and provide reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires high school diploma or GED and one year of direct work experience in providing support, training, information, and resources.
  • Demonstrated work experience providing one-to-one customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing presentations/training for large and small groups. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated data entry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse economic, ethnic, and social backgrounds.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Pass a Background Check (DSHS/DDA Secretary’s List)
  • Proof of being up to date on both flu and COVID-19 vaccinations are required.  Individuals with medical issues or religious beliefs or practices that prevent them from getting the vaccine may request an exemption from the vaccine requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AA Degree and two or more years of direct work experience in providing support, training, information, and resources in the disability community.
  • Experience and/or employment utilizing trauma informed knowledge in supporting and training of adult learners.
  • Experienced in data entry utilizing Salesforce; training is provided upon hiring.
  • Fluent in one or more language, in addition to English.

Position Details: Full time – This full time, remote position supports two grant-funded projects. Each grant project is approximately 20 hours/week for a combined 40-hour work week

Salary Range: $20-22/hour for this full-time (40-hours/week) position with benefits.
